Shortly after James got a sour reaction from me when he teased me about not waking him up to take a shower last night, he prompted Dagny, “Tell mama what a cow does for fun.”
She said, “What does a cow do for fun, mama?”
“I don’t know, what?” I truly had no idea what the punchline could be.
“Goes to the mooooooooovies.” she finished.
Bahahahahaha! I clapped & cheered & reflected on how charming a cheesy joke is when told by an innocent child. I asked her, “Where did you learn that?!” referring to the joke itself.
“At the farm…when I was a cow,” she was udderly matter of fact. (Tee hee)
Then, she underscored, “I went to the movies back when I was a cow at the farm.”
Annnnd that is when I ran to get my phone before I forgot any of it. And as sure as the sun will rise my memory of it is already fuzzy and I haven’t even hit publish yet. Le Sigh.
